Llewellyn Lee, MD
Vascular and Interventional Radiologist
Dr. Llewellyn Lee is a board-certified Vascular & interventional Radiologist and the Chief Medical Officer and Director of Interventional Radiology at VasCare. Dr. Lee completed his undergraduate degree at the United States Military Academy at West Point and attended medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Upon graduation, Dr. Lee completed a transitional internship at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Madigan Army Medical Center, and a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut.
Dr. Lee served is a retired Colonel in the U.S. Army and served in various roles to include the Chairman of Radiology of community and Army medical centers in Texas and Virginia. Dr. Lee has extensive experience across the full spectrum of Interventional Radiology and is widely recognized as a key opinion leader in venous disease, peripheral arterial disease, end stage renal disease and embolization procedures.
Dr. Lee has helped develop numerous medical devices in use today and he actively consults with the medical device community. He has been treating patients for over 20 years and has successfully performed thousands of procedures.

Jennifer Mike-Mayer, MD, FACS
Vascular Surgeon
Dr. Jennifer Mike-Mayer is a board-certified Vascular Surgeon at VasCare. She completed her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in her hometown of Galveston, Texas. She continued there to complete her internship in General Surgery and residency in Vascular Surgery. Prior to joining VasCare, she was an assistant professor in Vascular Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch and assistant program director of the Vascular Surgery residency program. She has the distinguished title of Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She was recognized as one of Texas Monthly Magazine’s Top Doctors Rising Stars in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
Dr. Mike-Mayer is proficient in a wide range of vascular surgical procedures including treatment of aneurysms, carotid artery disease, end stage renal disease, renal artery disease, venous disease, and peripheral artery disease. She is particularly passionate and adept in peripheral artery disease and limb salvage procedures. During her time in academic practice, she was actively involved in the education of future vascular surgeons and published multiple book chapters and journal articles.

Charles Gutierrez, MD, FACS
Surgeon
Dr. Charles J. Gutierrez is a board-certified general surgeon and fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Gutierrez received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine in 1994.
Dr. Gutierrez completed his surgery residency at Huntington Memorial Hospital-USC in Pasadena, California in 2000 and has been in private practice since being recruited to Texas in 2000. He retired as an Army Reservist in 2012. During the course of his career, Dr. Gutierrez has treated patients with venous disease, ulcers, and complicated wounds with endovenous ablation therapy and other procedures. In 2010, Dr. Gutierrez began exclusively managing and treating venous disease.

Marco Serrano, RPA, RCSA
Radiology Practitioner Assistant
Marco Serrano is a board-certified interventional radiology practitioner assistant at VasCare. With more than 20 years of experience, Marco specializes in diagnostic and interventional radiology, including endovascular procedures. Marco routinely works with venous disease, peripheral arterial disease, end-stage renal disease, and vascular embolization procedures. Marco is committed to providing quality care, ensuring patient well-being and health. Marco holds his Bachelor’s degree in Advanced Radiology Science with a focus on Radiology Practitioner Assistant from Weber State University.

Monica Serrano, MSN, RN, FNP-C
Nurse Practitioner
Monica Serrano is a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner with over 24 years of nursing experience and six years in advanced practice, specializing in family health and pulmonary care. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi through the Family Nurse Practitioner program, where she developed a strong foundation in delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care.
Throughout her career, Monica has built extensive clinical expertise in intensive care and wound care, allowing her to effectively manage both acute and chronic conditions. She provides care to patients across the lifespan, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations, with a focus on personalized treatment plans that support each patient’s individual needs.
Monica is actively involved in professional organizations such as the Coastal Bend Advanced Practice Nurses, Texas Nurse Practitioners, and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, demonstrating her commitment to continued learning and professional development.
With a passion for patient advocacy, Monica prioritizes compassionate, patient-centered care. She emphasizes prevention, education, and collaboration to help patients better understand their health and make informed decisions, ultimately improving their overall quality of life.
